GRAND HOTEL SALTSJÖBADEN
A landmark and a property of national cultural and historical significance. The hotel was built by K.A. Wallenberg and inaugurated by King Oscar II in 1893, the hotel was owned by the Wallenberg family until 1999. The stately property with 140 rooms has fallen into disrepair over the years. The Solberg family, who today owns and operates Grand Hotel Saltsjöbaden, started an extensive renovation project in 2024, the property will be restored and upgraded. The once stately property will regain its former glory. The renovation project is expected to last through 2026, including a new spa and a new extension that will give the hotel an additional 80 rooms.
Ekstrands has been awarded the prestigious project of supplying all windows and doors to the Grand Hotel. The first deliveries began in the summer of 2024 and deliveries will continue throughout 2025. The window from Ekstrands is unique in many ways, a genuine wooden window in the old style that also has high performance. Many of the windows are specially manufactured with curved arches and genuine Viennese bars. The large barred glass sections on the second floor are outstanding in their design. The more than 600 windows that will be replaced during these two years are probably the most prestigious window replacement in Sweden in modern times.
