Ekstrand's exterior door construction Passiv 91 has been certified by the “Passive House Institute” in Germany, which handles all certification of products for passive houses.
This means that you can now get all Ekstrand's unique door models in the Passive 91 version with a U-value from 0.58 W / (m²K). Passive 91 is an outward-facing front door and thus suits Scandinavian customers better. Ekstrands already has a passive house certified window, EC/90 Plus+.
Interest in passive houses is steadily increasing and more and more passive houses are being built in Sweden. Passive houses are buildings that are "passively" heated via the sun, internal heat gains and recycled heat in ventilation systems. This results in a heat energy saving of up to 75% compared to buildings that meet the upcoming BBR requirements.
This is how the Passive House Center in Sweden writes: A passive house is a house that has a high level of comfort, good quality, uses minimal energy and contributes to the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions. The purchased heat energy only amounts to one-fifth of today's building requirements.
